Loosening up

Perhaps you admire the loose flowing watercolours you see in galleries, where much is left to the imagination and yet the image draws you in and says so much? If you are frustrated by your watercolours and find that you get caught up in the detail, then this day will aim to loosen up your style.
There is no right or wrong way to paint in watercolours. Botanical artists paint every detail, others paint in transparent layers, however this day will concentrate on painting loosely, where what you leave out is as important as what you leave in. We will explore tone, working wet in wet, colour, texture and composition.

You do not need any experience to enjoy this day, but if you have already painted in watecolour you will find plenty to stimulate you.

All materials are provided, along with refreshments and a light lunch. The group will be small to encourage individual attention and it will be held in Hurst, Berkshire. The venue is a peaceful rural location to inspire you. Two days are planned in 2019: 15 March and 16 September at a cost of £85 per person.
